Six years of "replace this, replace that." The real fix was a chemical overhaul.
Six years of replacements, and the cooling never came back
For six years, this customer's servicing company had an answer ready every time the cooling weakened: "Need to change part." "Need to change piping." "Need to change PCB." Money kept going out, parts kept getting changed, and the cooling never truly came back. The family kept dragging the system along, hoping it would survive a little longer.
By the time he contacted us, the aircon was barely cold. In his own words, he was already mentally prepared to hear the usual "replace whole unit" speech from yet another company.
Why we didn't reach for the parts catalogue
Our first job on a scene like this is not to quote. It is to find out what is actually wrong. When the team examined the system, nothing pointed to failing hardware. What it was suffering from was years of accumulated dirt deep inside the fan coil, the kind of grime that surface-level servicing never touches.
A unit can be "serviced regularly" for years and still choke slowly from the inside, because a quick filter wash and wipe down does not touch what sits inside the blower and coil. The cooling had not died. It was buried.
A chemical overhaul instead of another replacement
Where our technicians Kamrul and Shahidul saw the issue, there was only one solution: take the unit off the wall and clean every part individually. That is what a chemical overhaul does: full dismantling, every component washed with chemical treatment and a high-pressure jet, then reassembled and tested.
Replacing the cooling coil, the advice he had been hearing for, would have cost far more and replaced a part that was not the problem. We recommended the overhaul instead. He agreed and we went ahead.
"Instead of pushing unnecessary replacements, they carefully assessed the situation and recommended a chemical overhaul. Even better: the difference was NIGHT AND DAY. What impressed me most was not just the results, it was their honesty and professionalism. No sales tactics. No funny business. No upselling games."
Cold enough to switch off
The result was immediate and what the customer called an absolute gamechanger. For the first time in years, the room got so cold he actually had to switch the unit off. No part replaced, no piping changed, no parts sold. Just the system restored to what it was built to do.
If your aircon has been serviced regularly for years but the cooling never comes back, the answer is not always another part. Sometimes the system is choked beyond what general servicing can reach, and a proper deep clean restores it completely. Before paying for a new coil, compressor or piping, get a second opinion from someone with no incentive to sell you parts.
